- Sometimes long
school holiday will give some headache of what to do for the
kids. Well, here a pretty good idea. You will enjoy train ride,
speed boat ride and visit to a village build on stilt.

of trip:

1) Leave early and drive to Subang Commuter Train
station (8.00 am -8.30 am). |

You can park your
car for RM2 for the whole day at the station car park or at Carrefour
(FOC) which is just walking distance away. |

2) Take the train ride to Port Klang
(about 45 mins - 1 hour) |

- Cost of ticket
for adult is RM4.80 and children RM2.40 for return trip.
- Kids like window sit, so go during weekdays or at least early.
- Don't worry about which station to stop because the commuter
will stop at the last station were you alight
from the train..
- It's best parent keep the return tickets for safe keeping.
- To make the trip more educational and interesting, ask questions
along the way. |

3) Speed-boat Ferry Jetty to Pulau Ketam.(about
45 mins - 1 hour) |

- 100 meters
walk from Commuter last station.
- Do stop along the bridge towards the jetty and look along the
mud flap.
- Don't go for cheap boat ride, your kids life are no worth the
gamble.
- Cost of ticket for adult is RM6.50 and children RM3.50 for
one way (fully air-cond with TV).
- What to expect:
i) Crabs hanging around on the mud flap.
ii) Fisherman unloading their catches.
iii) Difference type of boats or ships.
iv) Mangrove swamps.
v) Fish farming in cages.

i) Why the water are polluted and this place is so smelly?
ii) What are the danger that you can find around here?
iii) What do these crabs eat?
iv) The importance of mangrove swamp.

4) Pulau Ketam. |
- Double check on
the next ferry back.
- Wait a while at the jetty. You may see lots of interesting
happenings around.
What to look out
i) Sea eagles flying down to catch fish.
ii) Better view of the village.
iii) Life on the mud flap.
iv) Where is the ice house.
- Walk to town, don't forget to snap photographs at the Balai
Polis Pulau Ketam.
- Beware of bicycles along narrow walkway.
- Don't miss the market place. The wet market have lots of fresh
fishs, reasonally priced compared to P.J market. Bring along
a small ice box if you wish to shop there.
- Lots of food stalls around the market place.
- Don't miss having lunch here (RM1.80 for a large bowl of laksa.
Wah!)
- If you are seafood lover; you just have found the right place.
Restaurants here are usually very popular during the night.
- There are also budget hotels near the jetty (RM54 fully air-cond).
- Don't forget to estimated your walking time. |
